Quality of a product or service is defined as “a customer’s perception of the extent to which a product or service meets their expectations.”

ISO (International Organization for Standardization) is the largest developer and publisher of international standards globally.

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO), widely known as ISO, was established on February 23, 1974, and is the largest international body for the dissemination and development of international commercial and industrial specifications.

ISO is a network of standard-issuing bodies comprising 162 Member States each, with the General Secretariat of the Organization located in Geneva, Switzerland.

ISO is a non-governmental organization that represents a bridge between the public and private sectors, on the one hand many of the organization’s member bodies form part of the governmental structure of their countries or bodies authorized by their governments, and on the other hand there are other members belonging specifically to the civil sector where they were established by national participation consisting of organizations working in various fields.

– ISO Standards :

ISO has developed over 31,000 international standards in many fields (industrial and commercial) and approximately 1,100 ISO standards are published annually. The most famous quality standards are ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 17025, ISO 22000 and ISO 27001.

There are quality standards that do not belong to ISO:

Quality systems that do not belong to the ISO Standards are systems and specifications that have not been issued by ISO but are subject to international recognition as quality systems and Standards like the afore mentioned ISO standards and systems, which are as follows:

  1. HACCP Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points System.
  2. BRC Packaging Product Quality System
  3. CE European Market Marking

and others ….

  • ISO Certificates are given to companies.

It is possible to integrate many specifications of quality systems. The establishment of effective integrated management systems (IMS) must take into account all activities that have an impact on the work and be applied at all levels in any organization regardless of its size or field of activity. Any administrative system, be it a quality, health and safety system or a financial system, must operate continuously in all components of the activity as part of the day-to-day operation of the entity’s business.

Consultancy services represent the bridge that helps you close the gap between what is implemented on the ground and quality by adhering to the requirements of international standards, and this will be achieved by following these steps:

1- Conducting a gap analysis between the current system and the requirements of the specifications.

2- Staff training (awareness courses – internal audit courses … etc.).

3- Assist in the establishment of quality management system documents.

4- Supervise the application of the system.

  1. Supervise the internal quality audit activities.
  2. Coordinate the audit process leading to the granting of quality certificates.

7- Supervise the maintenance of the system after obtaining the certificate (if requested).

The time frame that any facility needs to obtain ISO certification is between two to six months and depends on some factors, including:

  1. The size of the company.
  2. The degree of complexity in the processes and the flow of work within the company.
  3. Number of branches (if any).
  4. The total number of employees.
